Dr. Bright entered the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston in 1969 after his junior year at the University of Texas in Austin, receiving his DDS degree in 1973. His first three years after dental school were spent serving in the US Air Force dental corp, followed by establishing a general dental practice in Rockwall, Texas. In 1979 he entered the Endodontic graduate program at the Baylor College of Dentistry, receiving his certificate in the specialty in 1981. That same year he established, along with partner Dr. Hank Garrett, an Endodontic practice in Dallas where he practiced until 1987, when he “escaped” to beautiful Tyler. During his years in Dallas he also served as an instructor in the Endodontic department at Baylor College of Dentistry as well as President of the DFW Endodontic Study Club.
In 1987 Dr. Bright established an Endodontic practice in Tyler that has grown into the current Tyler Endodontics. He continues to be involved in organized dentistry, having served as President of both the Smith County Dental Society and the East Texas Dental Society as well as the Vice-President of the Texas Component of the American Association of Endodontists. Dr. Bright has been recognized by Texas Monthly magazine as a Texas “Super Dentist” for the past 20 years. He loves spending time with his four children and three grandchildren. An avid golfer, he also enjoys tennis, fitness activities and “lake time” with his family.
