On your initial appointment, we will perform a few simple tests on your tooth to confirm the recommended treatment. We will also take specific X-rays to allow us to make a correct diagnosis. The doctor will ask you questions about your symptoms, make a diagnosis, and give you ALL treatment options available to you. This is a great time for the doctor to answer any questions you may have about your tooth and prognosis.
In most instances, we are able to treat patients at their first appointment. For more information on what to expect, see Endodontic Treatment.
Depending on your specific case, your first appointment may be an evaluation. Sometimes the endodontist wants time to evaluate and double check the tooth before scheduling for treatment. These appointments usually take from 20-30 minutes. If treatment is needed, our staff will help you schedule that appointment.
Please bring the following information to your appointment:
- Your referral form from your dentist
- A current list of your medications and/or medical conditions
- Your dental insurance information, if you have it
* A parent or legal guardian must accompany any patient under the age of 18.
