After Treatment Care

After treatment, the root canal will be permanently sealed by your endodontist. In most cases, a crown must be placed to protect your tooth against fracture and decay. Please call your dentist for an appointment as soon as possible.

Your tooth is in danger of  fracturing after endodontic treatment. You should chew on the other side until your dentist has placed a protective restoration, usually in the form of a crown. Your restorative dentist and endodontist will determine the appropriate restoration to best protect your tooth.
